Labours of Heracles
The hero of heroes, Heracles, was the enemy of king Eurystheus. Hera, who hated Heracles because he was a son of Zeus from another woman, drove him so crazy that he killed his own wife and children without even knowing. To pay for his crimes he became a slave of Eurystheus for twelve years. The king made him fulfil twelve tasks, called labours, the first being slaying the monstrous Nemean lion. The skin of this lion was undestructible. Heracles couldn't defeat the beasts with his club, so he did it with his bear hands. Afterwards he skinned the beast with his nails and made an armor.
